Inverness
Inverness is the capital of the Scottish Highlands with many shops, restaurants and places of interest including the castle, museum, art gallery, cathedral and theatre.
Flowers by the River Ness For a lovely stroll, walk down the river bank past the city's award-winning floral displays and explore the peaceful Ness Islands.

Lots of events are held in Inverness such as music and arts festivals, concerts, Highland Games and the Inverness Tattoo.

Cawdor Castle, with its picturesque gardens and forest trails, is one of the many must-sees a short drive from Inverness.

Culloden Battlefield, the prehistoric Clava Cairns, fairytale Brodie Castle and the military museum at Fort George are just some of the popular places to visit. Or why not take a minibus tour to see the puffins or a cruise to see the local dolphins?

To the south of Inverness lies the famous Loch Ness where you can take a boat trip, visit the ruins of Urquhart Castle and explore the monster exhibitions in the village of Drumnadrochit.
