INVERNESS Inverness has much to offer with its excellent shopping facilities including the Eastgate Centre, Victorian market and retain parks. There is a wide selection of restaurants, pubs and cafes for all tastes. The city also has a swimming pool, ice rink, cinema, museum and pretty riverside walks. Lots of events take place throughout the year including festivals and Highland Games. Farm produce and crafts are sold in monthly street markets. In the summer you may well see Highland dancers or a pipe band in the High Street! |
|
SIGHTSEEING Why not take a cruise on Loch Ness or drive around the pretty villages of Dores, Drumnadrochit and Fort Augustus? Urquhart Castle on Loch Ness is also well worth a trip. From there you could take the road to Eilean Donan Castle and the Isle of Skye which is an excellent day out in summer. There are many historic visitor attractions such as Culloden Battlefield just outside Inverness and nearby Fort George with its military museum.
If you don't have a car, there are plenty of day trips by bus from Inverness. |

The mountains and beautiful scenery of Glen Affric, Aviemore & the Cairngorms are all within a short drive.
